From a bash related thread

The Posters are the ones funding these shops

In light of recent offshore environment events. Would it be a requirement for future BASH attendees to actually have funded an account at one RX book in the last say 6 months prior to a BASH. Pretty simple nothing more nothing less. I'm saying for as little as 50 bucks. A site accross the street made this a requirement for a Bahama trip this summer.

Before I do not think this was big deal in years past, but now many who played offshore ARE NOT PERIOD and are not playing or are local.

TheRX seems all to generous in the whole BASH thing. Many West coasters from AZ, CALI, and locally in Vegas can treat themselves to a nice weekend on the house with no strings attatched.

Kept this here as not to piss too many posters off.

I think you'd be surprised that many simply are not offshore right now.

I can say I am, but the 6 or so posters I know and talk to in Tampa are NOT and all have been at prior bashes. I talk to many gamblers daily at my work and they are not offshore anymore as well (playing sports and online poker).

OR MAYBE MAKE THE BASH CONTESTS EASIER, but have a post-up at say any book to be able to be eligible.
JUST A COMMENT/THOUGHT.

Maybe RXer's that have 500+ posts and stay elsewhere on their own dime with an out of state ID would get a $50 blackjack hand or something to keep expenses low as well.

Vegas isn't giving away stuff like they used to as well since all the consolidation.

JUST SOME RANDOM THOUGHTS.

That first post is solid. I concur.

It's not my money, but somehow the thought of some cheap bastard signing up and making a couple of posts here to get a room just irks me. Someone mentioned the RX room offer could possibly be on one of the "free stuff" forums.

I do understand what you are saying and this is something that has been discussed in the past. Anyway it is simply to late to do anything about this year but perhaps in the future it may be considered but that remains to be seen.

TheRx.com sponsers these Bashes to show appreaciation to the posters that support the site all year and quite frankly the The Rx.com is hesitant to tie any strings to being eligible to attend our annual Bashes other than simply being a registered poster...

Our main objective for sponsering The Rx Bash every year is to create goodwill and loyalty within the posting body and allow posters an opportuity to begin friendships that have The Rx as it's focal point. Personally I find forcing posters to proove that they play at a sponser book simply to attend the event petty and in the end counter productive.

That said we have no problem asking posters to at least have an account at any Rx.com book that is generous enough to sponser a contest for The Bash or any of the other very lucrative contests held here at The Rx.com throughout the year.

The Rx.com wants it's members to want to post up at our sponser books and not be obligated to have to post up at one of our sponsers simply to attend a party that has become an annual tradition.

Even with the contests in almost all cases posters simply have to open an account at the book sponsering the contest. Actually funding that account while desirable by both the sponser and The Rx.com still remains strictly optional on the part of participating posters.

This is a free site and hopefully will always remain that way.

Thank you for your suggestion, wil...
